What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file that a website stores on your phone, tablet, or computer when you visit. Cookies let the site work properly, remember your preferences, and tell us when something needs fixing. They cannot read other files on your device, install software, or contain viruses.

What cookies we use

1. Essential cookies (always on)

These keep the site working. We can’t turn them off — without them the order form and contact forms wouldn’t submit, and the cookie banner wouldn’t remember your choice.

• oc_cb_visited — remembers that you’ve seen and accepted our cookie banner so we don’t ask again on every page.
• wordpress_test_cookie — checks that your browser accepts cookies. Cleared when you close your browser.
• Contact Form 7 timestamp — short-lived, used to help block automated spam submissions on our forms.
• wordpress_logged_in_* / wp-settings-* — only set if you log in as an administrator. Regular visitors never have these.

2. Live chat (Tawk.to)

If you click the Live Chat option in our floating contact menu, our chat provider Tawk.to sets cookies so a chat conversation can stay open as you move between pages. These cookies are only set after you choose to start a chat.

• __tawkUUID, TawkConnectionTime, ss, twk_uuid_* — used by Tawk.to to keep your chat session running. Read Tawk.to’s privacy notice.

3. Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits, see which pages are popular, and roughly where in the country our visitors are based. Google Analytics is loaded only after you click Accept on our cookie banner. If you click Reject or Customize → Off, no analytics cookies are set and Google Analytics never loads.

• _ga, _ga_*, _gid, _gat — set by Google Analytics to identify a session and measure traffic. Expire after up to 2 years. Anonymised IP. Read Google’s privacy policy.

4. What we don’t use

We deliberately keep tracking to a minimum. We do not use:

• Advertising or re-targeting cookies.
• Social-media tracking pixels (Facebook, LinkedIn, X, etc.).
• Cookies that share your data with marketing partners.

How to control cookies

You’re always in charge of cookies in your browser. Every modern browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies for any website:

• Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
• Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
• Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
• Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.

If you block our essential cookies the order and contact forms may stop working — but you can still call us on any of our depot phone numbers.

Changes to this policy

If we add new tools or services that use cookies, we’ll update this page and (where required by law) ask for your consent again.
