How big is a shredding bag?

Each secure bag is approximately 75cm tall × 50cm wide (35 litres), with a maximum fill line at 46cm for safe lifting. Filled to that line a bag holds up to 15kg of paper — roughly an 18-inch high pile, or about 2,500 sheets of A4. Staples, paperclips, plastic wallets, sleeves and ring binders can all go straight in — no need to remove them.

What about hard drives, CDs and USB sticks?

These don’t go in a paper shredding bag. CDs, DVDs, USB sticks, floppy and zip disks go in a separate media bag — just choose Portable Media Destruction Bag in the order form below (£12.00 inc VAT per bag).

Hard drives must never be put in any bag — they damage the shredder. They are destroyed separately on dedicated equipment at £15.00 inc VAT per drive and cannot be added through the form, so please call us before you order and we will add them for you.

Deposit & Postage Fees

These charges are an initial deposit only against your total order. This amount will be deducted from your final bill upon receipt of the full or unused bags being returned or collected.

The deposit is not the shredding price.

Shredding is charged per bag when your bags come back to us. Your deposit is held against the bags and security tags we supply. It is deducted from your final bill once we have received all of them back, whether the bags are full or empty. All prices include VAT and your Certificate of Destruction.

Barwell & Birmingham: 1–20 bags £8.00 each · 21–50 bags £7.00 each · 51–100 bags £6.00 each · 101+ bags £4.75 each

Ross-on-Wye: 1–24 bags £8.00 each · 25+ bags £7.50 each

Example 1 – order 5 bags, fill all 5: pay £8.00 deposit + £3.95 postage when you order. When all 5 bags come back, shredding is 5 × £8.00 = £40.00, less your £8.00 deposit, so £32.00 left to pay. Total £43.95.

Example 2 – order 5 bags, fill 2 and return 3 empty: pay £8.00 deposit + £3.95 postage when you order. You are only charged for the 2 full bags: 2 × £8.00 = £16.00, less your £8.00 deposit, so £8.00 left to pay. Empty bags cost nothing. Total £19.95.

Example 3 – order 5 bags, bring 2 back full and keep 3 for next time: pay £8.00 deposit + £3.95 postage when you order. When the 2 full bags come back you pay 2 × £8.00 = £16.00. Your deposit stays on account until the other 3 bags and their tags come back. When they do (full or empty), we charge for any full ones and deduct your £8.00 deposit from that bill.

Please note: All parcels are sent via 48–72 hour tracked carrier or our own eco-friendly in-house delivery team. Upon receipt of the submitted form, your information will be passed to our accounts department who will generate the deposit and postage invoice (usually within 48 hours) which can be paid via bank transfer or a SUMUP online card payment link. We are unable to take card payments over the telephone, only via our secure online portal.
